Itinerary for the 3-Day Broken Group Islands Kayaking Expedition
Day 1
Meet at 200 Hemlock Street at the Small Craft Harbour. Your expert guide will brief you on a water taxi to the Broken Group Islands while you take in the breathtaking beauty of the coastline along the way. We will be dropped at one of the many sandy beaches within the Broken Group, where we’ll unload and re-pack our gear into kayaks. From here, you’ll have a kayak orientation to prepare you for your first paddle of this tour.
The itinerary of the tour will be based on group ability and weather, aiming to paddle 4-6 hours a day with plenty of time for spending quality time exploring and learning. Our philosophy is to make our guests experience as comfortable and fun as possible.
At noon, we’ll stop for our first lunch break where your guide will prepare you a delicious meal. Following this, we’ll continue to paddle the park.
In the afternoon, your guide will decide where to make camp for the night, selecting one of the 7 designated campsite within the Broken Group. Here, you’ll have a camp orientation and set-up your tent for the evening.
Dinner will be served once guests settle in and have a moment to rest. Each evening we have a campfire where we share our favorite moments from the day, taking in the sunset in this remarkable piece of wilderness.
Day 2
You’ll start your day nice and early, maybe catching a sunrise along the way. We aim to have breakfast ready at 7:00am, giving you plenty of time to relax and enjoy your morning cup of joe. We may move camp, or stay at one campsite for the entire trip. Your guide will advise based on weather and conditions.
Each day you’ll paddle and enjoy lunches on different beaches within the islands, with plenty of opportunity to discover the vast intertidal life, old-growth forests, and learn from the ancient First Nation Village sites located within the Broken Group.
Day 3
On the final kayaking day, you’ll spend yet another day exploring the Broken Group Islands. After a day on the water, we’ll be picked up by the water taxi and whisked back home to Ucluelet.
Get ready for hugs and new pen-pals- this is a trip full of connections you won’t want to miss.
3-Day Kayaking Odyssey in the Broken Group Islands Tour Testimonials
This is an amazing kayaking company! They were so supportive to us and the owners and guides did everything possible to make this a memorable trip. The food was awesome, the equipment was top notch and the camping sites and routes that they took us on were so beautiful. I can’t say enough. I’d go back in a heartbeat!
My son and I did a 3 day Broken Group Islands tour in August with Kevin and Aaron and we had an amazing time! I would book another trip with Hello Nature in a heartbeat - it was the highlight of our 2 week vacation on Vancouver Island.
