Itinerary for 3-Day Kayaking Tour of Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere
Day 1
Meet in Tofino at the bottom of First Street at 9:00am to load our gear. Your expert guide will provide you with a kayaking orientation and introductions before we start the trip, including a pre-trip safety demonstration.
The itinerary of the tour will be based on group ability and weather, aiming to paddle 4-6 hours a day with plenty of time for spending quality time exploring and learning. Our philosophy is to make our guests experience as comfortable and fun as possible.
We’ll stop for a lunch break where your guide will prepare a delicious meal while you take a moment to take it all in. We’ll set camp up for the night on one of the many beautiful campsites on Vargas Island. Once we find our destination camp, you’ll set up your tent while your guides set-up a kitchen for meals.
Dinner (and dessert) will be served between 6 and 7pm. Following this, we’ll have a group campfire where we’ll share stories from the day, and reflect on the peaceful quietness of nature around you.
Day 2
You’ll start your day nice and early, maybe catching a sunrise along the way. We aim to have breakfast ready between 7:00am-9:00am, giving you plenty of time to relax and enjoy your morning cup of joe. We may move camp, or stay at one campsite for the entire trip. Your guide will advise based on weather and conditions.
Each day you’ll paddle and enjoy lunches on different beaches within the islands, with plenty of opportunity to discover the vast intertidal life, old-growth forests, and learn from the ancient First Nation Village sites located within Clayoquot Sound.
Day 3
On the final kayaking day, we’ll paddle back to Tofino in time for a late lunch.
Get ready for hugs and new pen-pals- this is a trip full of connections you won’t want to miss.
