Vargas Island

Vargas Island Hike Overview:

This trail winds across an amazing stretch of Vancouver Island’s western coastline.  The day begins with a relaxing boat ride to a remote beach on Vargas Island.  

From there hiking the beautiful beaches, trails, and headlands provides a great way to truly experience this amazing coastline.


Participants must be comfortable on rocks, sand and uneven ground.  This hike is easy - moderate in difficulty.

We will meet you in Tofino at 8.30am. From here, your day of adventure begins with a relaxing boat ride to a remote beach on Vargas Island. Hiking the beautiful beaches , trails, and headlands provide a great way to truly experience this amazing coastline.

There will also be plenty of time to take in the rich and colourful inter tidal life and view eagles, whales, shore birds, seals, mink, sea lions, river otter, and sea otters.

Expert Guides will escort and interpret the natural and cultural history of the area.
Our guests carry only a bottle of water, a light but delicious snack and lunch, and any needed personal gear.

Safety equipment will be provided and carried by your guide. At the end of the day we will get picked up by the water taxi and boated back to the town of Tofino.

Private Excursions can be arranged for groups of 6 or more.
